In order to interact with anyone, teachers, students, community members, family members and stakeholders, one must first understand where the person is coming from. When one listen to a person attentive that gives that person psychological air. Communicating is vital to being an effective educator. We communicate with others both verbally and nonverbal by eye to eye contact, gestures, body languages, and posture. Many problems arise because of poor communication among leaders. Both the school leaders and the poor communications agrees that active listening is vital to communication and without it much important information will be misunderstood or overlooked. The poor communicators scored low in active listening but do agree they need more training in order to become better listeners. A speaker can tell if someone is paying attention by the body movement, gestures, the way we sit, and the way we react to what is being delivered. Active listening built trust and respect, gives the other person a chance to release emotions, relieves tension, gathers information, and creates a collaborative environment for problem solving (Salem. 2003). By the survey one can see that both the leaders and the poor communications agree that nonverbal communication is more important than voice and words. Nonverbal communication is the foundation for a successful relationship and is the most effective communication skill.
